An offer to purchase two barrels of wine from well known, Scott Paul Winemaker, Kelly Fox, was something we just could not pass up.  The fruit is from the Maresh and Momtazi vineyards, both located in the northern Willamette Valley.

The wine has beautiful, pure pinot noir fruit, excellent acidity, and a remarkable, layered character with a long finish. Most '09s at this price point show as fairly simple, and may be either a bit lean, or a bit too ripe, but this one is complex, balanced to utter perfection, and is also ready to drink. It should probably cost in the neighborhood of $30 or more.”

2007 Pinot Noir: The Stress of the 2007 Harvest may have given our winemaker a few new gray hairs, but our 2007 Pinot Noir from the Winkler Vineyard in
Yamhill is drinking spectacularly. Like many producers, we watched warily as a cold wet weather pattern moved in before the fruit was fully ripe. Knowing that a combination of wet and warm weather would spell disaster, we were thankful and overjoyed when the rain came with highs only in the mid-forties. With the arrival of October we were blessed with several weeks of unseasonably warm dry weather with cold nights, and we celebrated one of the latest harvests we can remember.

Our 2007 Pinot Noir from the Winkler Vineyard is light in color, but
surprisingly flavorful.  We aged this wine in french oak barrels that
were near the end of their usable life, so as to minimize the oak's
effect on the delicate fruitiness of this wine. We learned a lot from
the 2007 harvest and hope you enjoy the wine.  (SOLD OUT)

2006 Pinot Noir: The fruit is dark and plentiful in this hearty Pinot. Produced with fruit from both the Rainbow's End Vineyard in Monroe and Mary's Peak near the town of Philomath. Aged in neutral French oak for 18 months. 131 cases produced  (SOLD OUT)

2007 Pinot Gris: Crisp and clear with a strong citrus aroma. The fruit for this wine came from the newly renamed Buttonfield Vineyard (formerly Jacob-Hart), managed by Stirling Fox, the brother of winemaker Christian Fox. With very little residual sugar (.03%) to weight it down, this wine balances subtle sweetness with full citrus flavors. Aged in stainless steel giving you a direct translation from grape to wine. 182 cases produced(SOLD OUT)

2005 Pinot Noir: A lovely classic wine from a great growing season. Rich yet elegant, fruity with cherry and berry, developing nice, subtle, warm spice notes.(SOLD OUT)

2006 Pinot GrisOnce again fermented slow and cool to retain the wonderful fruitful robe and palate friendly finish that make this wine special. The harvest in general was atypically sunny and void of moisture. The evening temperatures were too warm and of concern for flavor development and balance even in late September. However, as the sun glided more south the ideal temperatures arrived and the fruit thrived. We are all excited about the potential.(SOLD OUT)

2005 Pinot Gris: A snappy, fruit forward version. Fresh and juicy smelling with a hint of something citrus wafting up, it drinks smooth and finishes clean. I love this wine chilled cool for summer days and for lighter dishes all year round.(SOLD OUT)

2003 Pinot Noir: Our first wine. The year of "El Nina." Not quite an "El Nino" year, but darn hot for Oregon. The fruit came from premium vineyards and picked early enough to avoid the cooked flavors of many red wines made that year. True to the vintage the wine is bigger in structure than a classic year, however, it drinks with nice plumy flavors and a bold finish. More of a "Jimmy Jazz" than a "Fred Astaire."(SOLD OUT)
